Jann Ki Baat

Something has become fundamentally wrong with our society. Every day we are exposed to horrors in the news, ranging from high-profile rape cases to murders of innocent children in school. There are many stigmas in our society that we need to get rid of. Lack of awareness is one of the main reasons that even after decades of freedom; our society is chained by such acts. Drug abuse is a prevalent problem in many states, cybercrime is getting traction, domestic violence is increasing, and human trafficking is being ignored.
In the light of events happening around us we plan to bring our pilot project 'JANN KI BAAT'. Jann ki baat is going to be modern version of a Street play where we would like to bring forth the issues faced by common people and noting down their opinions on this prevailing issues and how to be dealt with.
Our aim is to bring about a realisation and initiate actions for the cause. The activities associated to the movement are planned in such a way that will act as an eye opener of the people.
Nurture Nature Global and LEGAL AID CLINIC, UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF LEGAL STUDIES, PANJAB UNIVERSITY, CHANDIGARH presents Jann ki Baat in Chandigarh. Event is also supported by our Club Partner- Rotaract Club of Chandigarh Shivalik and Outreach Partner- PU Mirror. Event will be held from 26th September 2017 - 04th November 2017.

Trash Walk + SDGs Talk

Date & Time - Monday, October 2 at 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM UTC+02

Location - Green Office MaastrichtSt. Hubertuslaan 12, Building X, 6211 KD Maastricht, Netherlands

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Mission is the most significant cleanliness campaign by the Government of India launched in 2014 on October 2nd [B'day of Mahatma Gandhi] for a cleaner India. Together with Nurture Nature Global, an NGO dedicated to creating awareness on combating climate change & environment protection by bringing impact through smaller actions, we are hosting an event in order to identify the connection between trash and climate change, and brainstorm ways in which we as individuals can make a difference.

We'll start off with an introduction followed by a skype call with Dr. Aniruddha Rajput [Chairman, Drafting Committee of United Nations International Law Commission], followed by a discussion covering themes such as:
o Why a trash walk? What's the connection between trash and climate change?
o Climate change a brief overview of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
o How can we contribute to SDGs as individuals?

Afterwards, we'll hold a trash walk - although Maastricht isn't known for being trash abundant, we know of a couple of areas that could use our help. We'll spend about an hour walking together with some music to help us keep up the trash picking pace! Let's connect youth through nature all while cleaning up our city!
